Lecture: Peter Sandmark
Such a coincidence to have him as the lecturer. I think I just found what I would love to do as a career about a few days before the lecture.
My act of creativity of the week is volunteering at Rifflandia music festival. The volunteering part doesnt sound very creative but this is a music festival, therefore there was also a lot of arts and photography involved. I had to help out at the headquarters exchanging wristbands and getting ready for the shows. I also helped out at the venues during the shows and it was great. I know I am not exactly producing something, but it was the highlight of my month. I realised I wanted to be an event co ordinator for some kind of arts and culture event for my career. I have also thought of working as an art director, however that will be a very competitive one and I think I have to work a lot harder to be successful.
I took a lot of photographs of the shows and I also met a quite well known photographer, Sarah Bastin as i was giving her the wristband. I watched her took photos that night and googled the photos she took a few days after.
It just made me realise how much art is being used in our everyday life for entertainment and such.
This relates to Peter Sandmark's lecture because he also works as the arts and culture event coordinator in Victoria. He was successful in having a career on something that he loves.
